student log in and tracking

student log in and tracking
Author:  John

Like most of us I am a new user. I need to be able to log in a student, access a previously compiled Powerpoint 'lesson', test the student and file results.
Any ideas or help.
thanks

This is a recurring question but here we go ...
If this is delivered as a stand alone module or lesson then it is a self contained object, it doesn't communicate with the outside world. It isn't supposed to. The module is supported by a standalone SCORM API and CLI to handle messaging that are only active for the session that is live, they has no memory of that session once it is finished.
However Jonathon Yassen (search for the thread using FLASH ) Has a routine that can save externally to the module.

Logging in , testing and recording the results needs an external structure, this will be an LMS or CMS of some kind.
Have a look at Moodle, Claroline, KEWL to get an idea of what you need as a full support structure. If this is on an existing Intranet using sharepoint then the learning SDK by M$ also works.
