Can I install the trial version of CourseLab v2.7 on a Virtual Machine or access it via Remote Desktop?

The trial version of CourseLab v2.7 cna be launched on a physical PC or laptop only. The trial license does not allow to launch the CourseLab application on Virtual Machines or via Remote Desktop session. Full license does not have such restrictions.

I installed the trial version of CourseLab v2.7, but the 30-day trial cannot be activated. What can I do?

CourseLab uses the HASP driver (HASP License Manager) to activate the 30-day trial period. Please check that the HASP driver is installed properly and is running. To do so, please try the following two things:

Open Services via the Control Panel/Administrative Tools (location may depend on operating system) or launch Task Manager (for Windows 7) and proceed to Services tab. Please check that you have a service called Sentinel HASP License Manager and that the service is running.
Open http://127.0.0.1:1947 in your browser. This is the web-interface to HASP driver on your computer. The HASP driver configuration screen should appear.

If the HASP driver configuration screen displays OK, please make 3 screenshots - of the HASP Keys tab, of the Products tab, and of the Features tab, and send them to support@courselab.com. We will try to understand what is going on and get CourseLab v2.7 trial up and running on your computer. Also, please let us know what edition of Windows you are using. Please note that the trial version of CourseLab should be installed on a physical machine, it will not run on a virtual machine.

I consider buying CourseLab with 1 year of maintenance. What does maintenance include?

Maintenance means having the right to get updated builds of CourseLab within the same major version number. The current version of CourseLab is v2.7, so the current major version number is 2. All new builds (updated releases) of CourseLab that are released within the major version v2 become available for clients that purchased CourseLab with maintenance. New builds usually include some bug fixes.

When CourseLab v3 is released users of CourseLab v2.7 will have to pay for upgrade to v3. Maintenance of v2.7 does not include the possibility of upgrading to v3. The policy of upgrades to v3 for v2.7 users will be announced at the moment of release of CourseLab v3.
