I can't change the window size of my course
  View type:
Hi everyone,
Just the other day I uploaded my first ever course in My Courselab but when I opened it in IE the window was too big to be viewed without scrolling, which is a pity. When I was compiling the course it looked fine because when I pressed "browse module" it opened in a new pop-up window. How can I change the window size now it's published? I've been trying to change the size in the course structure card but it doesn't work, instead when I press the "save changes" button the numbers I've put in the "Window width" and "window height" areas jump to the "Max. score" area. Any ideas?
Thanks

Hi Dimitris, which browser is this in and is it opening in another tab or a whole new window?
If it's in a new window then it's the base code that's telling the window to open which is easy to open.
The problem with it opening in a new tab will be that the browser engine is over riding the settings. The browser will assume that unless it is explicity instructed it can open a new tab which will inherit the settings of the preceeding tab(s).

Hi guys, thanks for the speedy replies. Nick the browser is the latest Internet Explorer and it opens in a new window. Now I'm on another computer with Windows 7 and a wide monitor (22") and the slides actually look quite small- they only cover 3/4 of the screen!! I will test it on different computrs and monitors to see what happens. Is there anything I can do to make sure that, upon opening, the course will fit exactly the screen regardless of its size?
Thanks
Dimitris

Hi Nick, good you're back []

imho you cannot scale the output; the only thing you can do is open the course in fullscreen but then it will stay the same size.
Flash can be scalable but that's another story [;)]

Normally I develop for 1024x768 screensize, most people can see the whole course then. Take care, 1024 x 768 is not the size of the course, you have to count in the border etc.

Opening in a popup with javascript has the advantage you can hide most bars.[:)]

Is thread "Open Course on Web in Pre-set Size" of any use? Like Nick said, ypu can open a course in a window without toolbars etc, which gives a bigger content area.
