purchasing the Powerpoint extra
  View type:
I work for a United States Tribal Government (Indian Tribe). We operate a small job training program (free) and wanted to use courselab. We tried to purchase the powerpoint extra with a government credit card (it is definitly a valid card) and it was declined. The backup purchase option was an option as it was not specifying how much the purchase was for. Any other ways to purchase?[]

Hi Renee
If you search back in the forum you'll find tht other have had problems like ths too, I think it was more related to the collection system than the card itself. You might find a way round your problem there,
I have converted Powerpoints by hand, just have powerpoint and Courselab open and you can cut and paste images between them.
A thing to wtch is that text cut from powerpoint will often contain extra formatting code embedded in it which canlead to some odd formatting, mainly your text unexpectedly changing size and font :( , I either paste into notepad then copy the clean text over or take it straight from Open Office Impress which handles text differently to Powerpoint.
Doing it by hand is honestly not much fun but it does let you think about the content and breakout of the way powerpoint works which is making points with little content detail fleshed out by a speaker.
For example I had to deliver a presentation on the UK data protection act, the slide content was references to legislations and sets of rules but people rated it as interesting and amusing, that wasn't the slides, it was my narration making the whole thing more lively. That's quite difficult to do with powerpoint alone.
You have a chance to make much more interesting and engaging material with Courselab.
There are some very good reference matrials around, Athabasca Uni has some good papers on delivery and concepts in e-learning.
Hopefully Slav will pick up your comments and be abe to give a solution.
Hope you get your problems sorted out and have fun makng material with Courselab.
Regards
Nick
