Scoring and rules
  View type:
Greetings all. I am new to the LMS scene, and seem to be having issues with courses, moudles, objectives and rules.

I am creating a basic math course, with 8-10 modules inside the course. I have test activities at the end of each module with a score of 80% or higher to pass. My problem is that somewhere in my objctives or rules, I am missing something. I can only take the first module, then when I restart the package, it says course complete.

Any ideas where I can look or can anyone offer help?

Much thanks.

Craig

You've probably set a rule for the MODULE that says score = x = PASS, at your fist test you have a total score of x so the MODULE pass criteria is satisfied and so is completed.
If you want to allow a pass with 50% minimum using 10 questions and the 'weight' of each question (set in the question properties)is 1 then your module pass criteria (set in the module runtime ~ objectives should have a maximum of 10 minimum of 5.
If you want all the questions or specific pages viewed to be attempted before the module is considered complete then you set this in the runtime ~ rules.
It's going to be a really simple problem Craig.

An afterthought... If you have some discrete sub sections then you might want to have some specific and unique objectives set for these. You can make the overall success or pass (uses the total variable) dependent on scoring a certain pass in each of them by defining some rules (runtime ~ rules).
Say PASS = module1_score =>80% AND module2_score =>80%.
