add text to help and content button
  View type:
Hello,

I have a question do you know how to add text to help and content button for new buttons that we created?

Best regards,
Diana

Hi, Diana,

Not sure what do you mean as buttons - if you mean help window object, then the text is one of the object parameters - just edit it. Or do you mean something different?

Hi Diana
Do you mean the pop ups for the buttons that are a part of the slides templates?
You'll have noticed that in the normal slide view you can't do anything to them which is why I'm guessing you're asking.
Go to the master view of the slide and then single click to select the help button, then right click to open properties. You'll recognise the button to start the content text editor pop up.
The content button is slightly different as it updates as you add or delete pages, unless you have to change this then leave it as it is.

Hi Diana,

As a developer without any Flash knowledge I am very pleased with the possibilities Courslab has as far as localization is concerned and the intuative interface [:)]However, alhough most items can be adapted (localized), unfortunately the text displayed on actual buttons itself cannot I guess. If I am correct then it would be great if some time in the future the localization would be extended to button texts since developing new buttons (dutch translation) takes considerable time.
best regards,
Marcel

Unfortunately as you note Marcel localisation doesn't go that far but you can make your own work around.
The default buttons used in the templates are held in their own folders in the module you are making. Look at the folder named "1" and say "nav_008_next. This is the default next button and contains four image states for the button.
Find this and using a paint program change the text on the default buttons.
As you'll want to reuse these keep a copy outside of courselab and just drop them into your next module.
It's not a perfect solution but it works

Oh and the help button seems to be a 'special' one linked to just the pop up.
If you have your own unique help button just add an onclick action to open a hidden text object which contains your help text

Hello everyone,

thank you very much for your responses!

So we created our own template, that means all the radio buttons are made by us. What we dont know is how can we add text to those radio buttons. As I understand for the help button we need to add an on click action. Ok
What should we do for the content button???

Best regards,

Diana [:)]

Its another one of those 'special' buttons. The text it displays (TOC) is obviously the list of contents.
This would be handy one to have available.. I could see a simple scenario where you only reveal a certain part of the whole module using this, Pass a defined point and you an extended or a different TOC.
Time for a nose around I think
