Sound echo, and iFrame not recognizing a complex URL
  View type:
I'm having 2 problems that may or may not be related.

One is with sound from linked SWFs. The SWF sound is being echoed (played twice with a delay) on each frame that links to a SWF. I saw a potential solution in the threads and placed the SWF on an iFrame, and the echo went away. Unfortunately, I can't always place SWFs into an iFrame, which brings me to issue #2...

I use SitePal, and I'm trying to link to a rather convoluted SWF via URL. But the iFrame is telling me it cannot find the specified file. Here is the URL (which I verified to work):

http://vhss-a.oddcast.com/vhss_v3.swf?doc=http://vhss-d.oddcast.com/php/getshow/acc=375896/ss=1516989/sl=0?embedid=9f97dfadd83e199df152a1a63d4f5fe9&acc=375896&bgcolor=0x

So 2 questions:
1) What is causing that echo and how can I avoid it besides using an iFrame for everything?; and
2) Why won't my iFrame recognize that lengthy URL?

Cheers,
Scott

Hi Scott.
To avoid using an ifrane you'd need the original swf and just embed that into the courselab page. This in any case is probably a good idea as it means that you aren't dependent upon (a) having web access (b) having the source file available from the target site.
Rhe URL does work as you say, looking at the site itself it also uses a very similar source for the swf. I think this is where the problem is, the declaration on the doesn't follow what you would expect. See http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_4150

On SitePal.... You might be better off using something like http://www.flipz.tv/ as it generates the swf on your PC which means that you have control and ownwership of the file so easily import it into your content.
Personally I don't like having to rely on an external data source which I have limited or no control over. Any change and my content is gone, the modules broken and I might as well have not wasted my time making it.
That's just my opinion
