The reason is apparently not in the course [:)]
There are a lot of reason for that. For example, some LCD monitors have auto color balance feature, which can completely desaturate plain light colors (while it looks quite good on photos). Display settings on the computer may affect too.
In fact, there were 216 "web-safe" colors some time ago (you can easily find them with google or smth), but that was intended to hide Win/Mac color differences. Not sure they are still valid.
