Sound Syntax question
  View type:
Guys,

Trying to create an icon with audio attached to it. No problem so far. Do not want the audio to play on appearance. Not a problem either.

Go to create actions on the icon. On click, sound. Here is where the problem begins.

I select the icon object.

I enter the same path as the sound that was placed in the icon Format Object properties.

I selecct start.

When I run the slide, on my production machine, I get audio. When I publish to CD or SCORM, I get no audio.

What am I do wrong? is it improper syntax? I am not a programmer and donot have any background in programming so that might be part of the problem.

Thanks for any help.

Craig

Hi, Craig!

Perhaps the problem is in sound file name: to load this file in web-browser it must be named web-friendly (i.e. latin letters and numbers only) or you may have file loading problems when launching module outside your working environment. Please try to rename it.
If this is not the reason, then it may be browser security settings (for example, IE forbids playing any active content from local computer by default - look in Tools - Options - Advanced menu of IE).

Slav,

Thanks for the response.

THe files are named 0001.mp3 and are named sequentially from there, so I do not think that is the problem.

Also, the file works fine when I tried to play it on my PC. It was only after I published it that the audio would not play.

I will try it again with another project I am working on and see what happens.

THanks again

Craig Jackson
