Serial and parallel Navigation
  View type:
Well i am Author for Learning Programms. Normaly we work with a tool we build our self. What i would need is serial and parallel Navigation. It is hard to explain. 1 Slide main menu leads to 5 different streams. (parallel) those streams run serial. Last slide in the stream leads back to main menu. Each stream has a Questionnaire on the end. One Questionnaire on the of the end of the Modul as final test. Each Stream can also have submenus with serial streams witch lead back to the submenu slide. I know that is very complex. If needet i can provide a grafik to it by mail. Well if you guys wonder for what i need that. It is for Aircraft technology. ( that is just not simple[:cool:])

So you have a start page with goto options a, b, c, d, e etc and the user either works through these sequentially or randomly?
Do they complete these optional sections in the same session or can they leave and return at another time?
What are you using for delivery of this proposed module? A stand alone or a CMS/LMS platform?
=======================
The idea you have of several sequences of frames could easily work and would be easy to control by using fairly simple menu options.
Pick_opt_page ->OptA->p1->p2->back on completion to Pick_opt_page.
If you need the options to be presented sequentially then the completion quiz needs to set a variable to switch on or show the next option link.
This sequential approach will fall over if you are using a CD based delivery or don't have a CMS/LMS to keep track of where that specific user has got to.
Similarly without a CMS/LMS to track the users progress you will have problems if they don't complete everything in the same session.
I'll mail you a really dumbed down outline in the next day or so.

Sorry about the multiple posts, windoze decided to wake up and have a funny 5 minutes!!
Sent Karl some sample pages.

I got your pages. He has to go sequently true it. Tracking is not a matter. If he leaves the module he needs to start over. They want it that way. No jumping allowed. The last Chapter he can do, let us put it that way that will be an addon to the subject.Normaly we build Intro, Menu, Chapter, Section, Lernstep, Questionnaire,. The Chapter can have more then 1 section the Section can have more then 1 Lernstep. Questionnaire 20 Questions end of Program. That is our normal way.

Hi Karl, I might have got close to what you were describing, I hope the comments on the pages were clear enough for you to follow them.
You should be able to do what you describe, adding a section with a section would just mean adding some pages. The same method can be used to hide options until a section is completed.
If this is a common task and you build these frequently it would be best to make a pre built template. Once you have built a generic structure you can expand as you need.

Yes it will work and thanks a lot for yor help.[:D]
