drag and drop
  View type:
I have an image containing several areas that I want the user to identify in a time limit. I thought using drag 'n drop of an image on to the scoring area would work, but don't know how to do it. Secondly if the user drags the image to the wrong location I want the image to return to start position. I read the manual and think this is possible, but need someone to show me how please.

Try a slight twist and use the matching pairs question type.
On one side use the in built text editor to add the images and on the other side your text question and or images. The user just has to drag them around to match them up correctly.
This will be the easiest way to handle this type of question.
Else make the whole thing from objects and and actions. More difficult as it is difficult to make the drop areas fuzzy but do able.
Authorware does this quite differently and is really very similar to the old and just re-released e-learning extensions for dreamweaver. Unfortunately the new version is only available if you buy the adobe education package or revert to a really ancient version of dreamweaver and use the rather cranky original.

Thanks Nick

If I get the time I'll knock up a sample the same question type in a few variations. That be any use to you?
I assume your work mail client is happy accepting biggish zip files?

Hi Nick,
Sorry for the late response. I would really appreciate your examples and I can accept large files on my work email.
