Drag and Drop
  View type:
Anyone got or know where I can access a good example of a drag and dop where a series of words or objects are moved?

I've done something similar but only picking a word from a list which if the correct word is picked moves to the gap in the text.

You ought to be able to easily change this making the words objects draggable.
The problem is that you have to specify the drop point as a set of co-ordinates so it's easy to miss. You'd need to test for a range +/- around the x,y drop point.

After a little bit of thought I'm playing with some of the techniques used in the showcase sample 'Planets'. I'll let you know if I make something that is reliable and functional. Then I can make a template module out of it.

Many Thanks Nick

Hi Sean
There's a new variation on the cloze activity on www.friendsofcourselab.info in the intermediate section.
It works with the following provisions:
In firefox the drag highlights text, it is OK in IE.
After dropping the insert text leaps back instantly, adding a time to get a smooth return generates an error :(
In terms of disability access it isn't too good, drag and drop can be difficult for some people.
Otherwise it works.
LOL Blank cheques to me
