Hi, I'm new to courselab & just trialling it. I find it easy to use, but []I'm having problems uploading a new course. When I publish to courselab.com, I get an error:
"Module could not be opened. Line 3, Pos 135. Whitespace is not allowed."
When I go to open the course/modules up again, I get the same error. I have no idea what it means & why it's happening... I've read the user guide & searched the website for help, but I can't find anything.
I've created about 3 courses now because I can't go back into the one I've just created due to this error... It's driving me mad & I'm about to give up on CourseLab & try another solution.
Any ideas?[]
Anita

Can you get them open in Courselab at all ?

If so try two options from the Module menu - Update Objects and Delete Unused Files.

If you cannot reopen courses that you have created due to them showing this error, I would suggest that you may have a corrupt instalation of the app.

Thanks for responding, Bob.
I can't reopen the files once I've closed them... Sounds like it's corrupt.

Open the xml file, go to line 3 and 135 characters along and see what's there. It might be something obvious you can just edit by hand and resolve.
As Bob suggests a reinstall might help, I'd download a new install file too.

Thanks Nick. I've had a look at the xml files & at the location it suggests, there is an ampersand. It is the folder (.../Niti & Juz/...)on my hard drive in which the files are stored. I notice further down in the code that this folder is displayed differently (.../Niti & Juz/...). Maybe I need to put this extra code (&) in after the ampersand? What do you think?
I've reinstalled a few times & get the same problem...

Hi, I tried editing the code in the xml file & this allowed me to open the modules now. I then did Update Objects and Delete Unused Files and published it to the web again. All successful but user still unable to open the modules:
error 1 - Object Error
error 2 - Commit Data Error. XMLHTTP: Invalid procedure call or argument.
I've emailed support with this info too, but maybe the developer experts can help...
Thanks,
Anita
