I need help here...

Why doesn't CourseLab recognize my Adobe Flash Player?

When I embed a Flash Video Clip (FLV file) and
publish course, I then click on the autorun.html
and receive this eror message:

"The Flash player you have is obsolete. Please go to Macromeda to install the latest version"

But I have downloaded, installed and rebooted/restarted by PC with the latest version of Adobe Flash Player:
"You have version 10,0,12,36 installed"

So why am I getting the "obsolete" error message?

I know CourseLab can handle other formats, SWF, AVI, etc. But I have lots of FLV files with me and would want to make use of them in CourseLab.

Hi.

After 3 days of waiting for a reply (nobody replied to my query!), I decided to check out this website's info. I stumbled upon this part of the CourseLab website:

http://www.courselab.com/db/cle/1CCE7B45B5FB1BC9C32571690042CB14/doc.html

Home :: CourseLab :: Supported formats

Video
AVI +
WMV (Windows Media Video) +
MPEG +
MOV (QuickTime Movie) +
RM (Real Media) +
FLV (Adobe Flash Video) +

What? FLV format is under "Video"?

Okay, so I created a media object of type VIDEO (not Flash Video Clip as I had earlier done - which didn't work), and then I imported aa FLV file. Guess what? The FLV file played when I viewed the module!!!!

Strange isn't it?

So THAT'S how I solved my own problem.

To anyone reading this, if you want to play a FLV file, create a VIDEO media object first, then embed the FLV file into it....viola!!!

LOL...!!!

I am having the same problem on a website where I'm a member several of us cannot play the videos while others have no problem. I've gone to micromedia and downloaded and downloaded but I have the latest version..actually before MM updated the videos played for me. I would like to use your solution but I dont understand your instructions. Could you please write them for a technically challenged person? [:p]
