I'm using courselab and I'm very happy with the software. I'm also in the process of creating an assesment module. Does it allow us to create an assessment bank to store 50 questions and later pick at random, 20 questions to be tested?

Unfortunately, current test object does not support random selection of questions. Perhaps in future versions we will implement this option.

Is there any info when that functionality can be included?

actually this feature is almost ready, but we cannot include it in current version since it depends on some other new features, which need to be polished yet. We expect new version release at the end of February or March.
