Hi, Can anyone tell me if it is possible to get a detailed break-down of questions answered by a student, ie, each question and the students respponse, at the moment I am simply getting the final score only.

Regards
Anand

Hi, Anand,

Learner's answers are stored in SCORM cmi.interactions array. But CourseLab-generated module will send cmi.interactions to LMS only
a) if LMS supports SCORM 2004 (cmi.interactions are not sent by CourseLab runtime in SCORM 1.2 and AICC mode)
b) if module is published to SCORM 2004 package
Note also that old CL versions (2.2 and some builds of 2.3 cannot send cmi.interactions).

Hi Slav,

Thanks for the response. I am quite new to uing Courselab on Moodle. I am using Courselab 2.4, and publishing my test to the Moodle 1.9 LMS using SCORM 2004. When I track the details of the test done by a student, it only gives me the final score. How do I make sure that the details of each question is made available to the teacher and student? Do you have any idea how I can generate these result through Courselab? Is there any programming to be done?
Reagards
Anand

Hi Anand
The courselab cmi handles messaging between the module and moodle. When published as a SCORM 2004 your module has a wide range of information it can potentially pass, BUT it needs to be asked which is what your LMS does.
The first place you should look for the answer to this is the Moodle forum to see if this is a problem with moodle or courselab, and how moodle should be configured so that it asks for the information to start with.

Hi Nickj, Im actually experiencing the same issue reported by Anand. When I check the Moodle reports for the SCORM package developed in CourseLab, I can only see the question index selected by the user and if the question were answered correctly or incorrectly. I want to know if CourseLab export the Question Description as the Answer description choosen by the user in the cmi.interactions field. If this is not the case, I cant use CourseLab because we need to keep track of scores, but also the answers our personal choose in the test.
If CouseLab have this information exported, then Im sure I can go and check Moodle SourceCode to add this information, thats why I need to be sure CourseLab export this kind of information and dont waste time trying to find something that is never passed back to my LMS.
Thanks a lot for your answer.

Hi Anand & Isaac, there are two issues here.
1. The first is does moodle handle all the information that it is sent. This depends to a degree on the version, and before version 2.0 the you might have to look at using the Kineo SCORM Report plugin to get this kind of detail. It hasn't AFIK been used with any sucsess in moodle 2.n, that people have looked at this to get detailed reports seems to indicate that moodle still needs some extension in this area.
2. The second is does courselab pass this level of detail to start with and I am not sure about this. One of the dev team should be able to confirm what is passed. Given that 2.4 is (a) relatively old now and (b) totally free it is maybe a little optimistic to expect it to do 'everything'. The commercial 2.7 version has been improved massively in it's front and back end functionality and is more likely to pass the information you are after. Again someone from the dev team should be able to answer this.
It might be worth getting the 2.7 trial version and rebuilding the module using it then see if you get the results you want.
As far as I am aware moodle 2.2 should be able to handle the detailed output where this detail exists but it doesn't manage the detail very cleanly.

Ive already installed version 2.7, and the problem is the same, someone on the Moodle team is now working to improve the SCORM compatibility. I just want to know if the problem is because the information is not present or because Moodle never tries to retrieve it. We are still researching about different eLearning software, and CourseLab is one of the best choices because his Office look-a-like interface and all the different questions available (looking forward to get buy the commercial version). Can you contact the dev team to guide us about this issue?. Thanks a lot for your help.
