Agent methods and CD publishing
 View type:
I've published a course for CD with moving agents, but when I run it the agents don't execute methods.

Example: an agent walks in from the left of the screen, turns and points up.

When I test the movement from within Courselab everything works perfectly, but when running from the CD autorun the agent simply slides onscreen - no walking motion and no pointing.

Any ideas?

Getting an agent to walk in from the side of the screen is exactly what I'm trying (unsuccessfully) to do. How did you do that? []

Courselab previews using an IR based engine... are you viewing the published module with firefox?

I meant IE !!

I am using IE, so that's not the issue. I can add that I've uploaded the module into my LMS and the animations work perfectly there! It's only from CD (running from my desktop) that the problem occurs.

Hi, Anthony,

Perhaps the problem is in Flash Player security settings on the computer. AFAIR Flash player does not allow JavaScript/ActionScript data exchange between Flash movie and active content from CD or local disk by default. Please try to add CD (as location) to Flash Player's Trusted zone (this is in Advanced FP settings - you can find it here ).
The other reason can be two simultaneously launched modules with agents - agents are using Flash local connection mechanism with fixed local connection id, therefore if more than one LC is created, then both will fail.

Hi Slav,

thanks for this suggestion about Flash Plugin, i've found it very useful!
But i've a question about Firefox: after this new setting of Flash Player, agents keep being "stuck" watching animations in Firefox... why is this happening?

Thanks,Barney

Thank you Slav, the problem is solved! It was the Flash security settings...
